Senior guard Brandon Ballard opened the scoring for BIC with a three-pointer and the Mustangs never looked back. Piggott stayed close for much of the first quarter, trailing only 13-8, but the Mustangs closed with a rush and led 21-10 heading into the second frame. The second quarter was decisive for the hosts as they outscored the visitors, 30-4, to put the game totally out of reach at intermission, 51-14. It was more of the same in the second half as BIC continued to roll, leading 71-25 after three periods. Ballard led all scorers with 23 points, followed by Lance Davis with 10. Right behind were Brooks Taylor and Hunter Smith with nine each. Piggott was led by T.J. Harris with six and Chet Vaughn with five points.
BIC canned 10 three-pointers in the game and went 10-14 at the free throw line. Piggott had only one trey for the game and was 9-16 at the charity stripe. BIC also won the junior boys game, 52-50, after posting quarter leads of 19-11, 31-22 and 42-34. Jordan Griggs poured in 28 points to lead the Junior Mustangs. Trevor Matheny added eight. Chuck Rise with 13 and Casey Booth with 10 paced the Junior Mustangs.
