Lions hot from three point arc

The Lions were on fire Tuesday night hitting 13 treys in Manila's 81-64 pounding of the Bay Yellowjackets. Bay controlled the game in the first quarter taking a 18-13 lead but the Lions came alive in the second quarter to outscore the Yellowjackets 32-14 for a 45-31 advantage at the half. Bay led in scoring 18-17 in the third but could not overcome Manila's hot shooting as the Lions continued to roll leading Bay 19-14 to get the Lions' second win over Bay in the season. The victory improvedManila to 6 - 1 overall.

Senior Jordan Wise had another outstanding night leading Manila with 28 points. Seniors Matt Noble and Derrick Wright added double figures with 13 and 10 points respectively. Cody Wells also pumped in 11 points for the Lions. Others scoring in the victory were: Jackey Parker - eight; P.J. Brumley - three; Chase Shelton - three; Dustin Hobeck - three; and Gary Tyler - two.

Bay was led by Derek McMasters with 23 and Justin Hutchison with 16.

Manila will host Viola tonight in a senior girls and senior boys match up

before the holidays.

Manila also won the junior high match up defeating bay 55-35. Trailing 8-4 in the first a 16-6 second quarter for the Lions gave Manila a 20-12 at the break. Manila doubled Bay in the third outscoring the Yellowjackets 22-11 to take a 42-25 advantage and cruised on for the win in the fourth.

Manila was led by Ricky Langston and Ross Malloy with 14 points each. Chad Nunnally added 11 points and Tony Benham had 10 for the junior Lions. Trey McCormick rounded out scoring for MJHS with two points. Bay was led by Zach Seymour with 11 points.
