Edward C. "Dock" Thweatt, 102, of Leachville died Saturday at the home of his daughter in Rose Bud. Born at Koscuisko, Miss., he was the son of William and Effie Gregory Thweatt and had been a Leachville resident since 1918. He was a retired farmer and stockman and was an Army Veteran of World War II. Thweatt was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy K. Thweatt of Jonesboro and Lois Burchfield and her husband, Billy, of Rose Bud; a sister, Jessie Waltrip of Clarmont, Fla.; two grandchildren, Katlynn Burchfield and Bailee Burchfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Baker Thweatt in 1998.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Leachville Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Higgins officiating. The family will receive visitors today from 11 a.m. until the time of services at Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville.
