Rita Lou Hammell Baine, 48, of Lake City died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Lakeside Nursing Home. Born in Marked Tree, she had lived most of her life in Trumann before moving to Lake City eight years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Matthew L. Baine of Maumelle and M.J. Baine and Mark Aaron Baine, both of Paris; two sisters, Diane Hammell of Memphis and Rose Meloy of Newport News, Va.; a brother, Stephen Hammell of Trumann, and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merlin Henry and Dorothy Lee Carter Hammell.

A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Stacy officiating. Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann was in charge of arrangements.
