Elsie Marie Stewart, 101, of Leachville, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Monette Manor Nursing Home. Born at Denton, she was the daughter of the late W.J. and Cora Madison Field and had been a Leachville resident since 1924. She was a homemaker and a longtime employee of the D and M Variety Shop in Leachville. She was the widow of Leland Stewart and a longtime member of the Leachville First Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Bill Stewart of Pine Bluff; a daughter, Mary Wilda Lovelady of Leachville; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ray Stewart and a brother, Ulys Field.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Leachville Cemetery.

Grandchildren served as pallbearers.
