Gertha L. Corter - Monette

Gertha L. Corter, 93, of Monette died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at Monette Manor. She was a homemaker, member of Monette Assembly of God Church, lived in Monette for 52 years, formerly of Allison.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Corter of Joensboro and Don Corter of Monette; five daughters, Hazel Tiley, Iva Harrison, and Mary Eidson, and Shirley Cloud, all of Monette, and Betty Arnel of Coronado, Calif.; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Vinie Smithee, and her husband, William Arthur Corter, and four brothers and three sisters.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Monette Assembly of God Church with Rev. Terry Miller officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
