Born at Pangburn, he was the son of the late Tommy and Mary Moody Thompson and had lived most of his life in the Little Rock area.
He had been a Manila resident from 1995-2001 before moving to Algood. He was a retired brick mason and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Veronica Wilkes Thompson, in 1998.
Survivors include a son, Ron Thompson of Livingston, Tenn., a daughter, JoAnn Robertson of Conway; three sisters, Jewel Calk of Little Rock, Eloise Caples of Sherwood and Charlene House of Jacksonville; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday at Manila Cemetery with David Garner officiating. Burial was under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.
