Mary Evelyn "Tommie" Griggs, 65, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2004, at Rose Skill Care Nursing Center.
Born at Morrilton, she lived in Lepanto and Des Arc before moving to Caraway where she lived for 34 years before moving to Jonesboro. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include a daughter, Pam Griggs of Jonesboro; two sons, Chuck Griggs and Jason Griggs, both of Jonesboro; a sister, Jean Rosemond of Parkin; three brothers, Bill Raines of Lepanto, Charles "Bud" Raines of Casa Grande, Ariz., and John Raines of Weiner; and six grandchildren, Mitchell Griggs, Jeremy Griggs, Jordan Griggs, Ethan Griggs, Corey Griggs and Jamie Denton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Norman Griggs, and a brother.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Steve Shephard officiating. Burial was in the Caraway Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Troy Kelems, Barry Riley, Mitchell Griggs, Joan Raines, Jeremy Griggs, Johnny Raines and Jordan Griggs.
