William Edward Derryberry - Manila

William Edward Derryberry, 59, of Manila, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.

Born in Lepanto, he was the son of the late William Troy and Geraldine McGuire Derryberry and had been a Manila resident for most of his life. He was retired from the U.S. Army and attended Westside Church of God in Manila.

He is survived by his wife, Shelba Bradford Derryberry of Manila; two sons, Chris Derryberry of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jimmy Terry of Blytheville; two daughters, Adrian Derryberry and Stacy Lane, both of Nashville; five sisters, Betty Carter of Cordova, Tenn., Brenda Murphy of Cordova, Tenn., Darlene DuBose of Jackson, Tenn., Louise Smith of Chicago, Ill., Jo Carol Atchley of Manila; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Terry.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Brian Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service.
