Denny Layne Hale - Steele, Mo.

Denny Layne Hale, 54, of Steele, Mo., died Aug. 31, 2004, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 2, 1950, at Jackson, Tenn. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Pentecost Church of God. He was a lifetime resident of Steele and had served three years on the Steele Police Department.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Hale of Steele, Mo.; two sons, Anthony Hale of Steele and Jason Hale of Gosnell; four sisters, Inetha Walker of Osceola, Marie Hicks of Blytheville, Willia Bond of Steele, and Brenda Armstrong of Tyronza; six brothers, Lillard Hale of Osceola, Edward Hale of Auburndale, Fla., Roger Hale of Steele, Bobby Hale of Caruthersville, Mo., Billy Hale of Blytheville and Jerry Hale of Manila; and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zola and Bonnie Hall, a brother, Hillard Hale, and a sister, Louise Culp.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with Rev. Mike Richardson officiating. Burial was in Pemiscot Memorial Gardens in Caruthersville with Wilson Funeral Home of Blytheville in charge of arrangements.

Friends served as pallbearers.
