Helen Maxine Earnest, 75, of Manila, died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at Manila Nursing Center.

Born May 27, 1929, in Booneville, Miss., she was the daughter of Lee and Elvie Olive Smith. She was a lifelong resident of Manila, a homemaker and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, W.C. Earnest of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Gail Earnest of Manila and Freddie and Nita Earnest of Gosnell; two brothers, Charlie Smith of Dell, and Thomas Smith of Iuka, Miss.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. today (Tuesday) in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with Rev. Leroy Douglas officiating. Burial will be in the Manila Cemetery.
