McFarlin Pharmacy welcomed into business community

Wednesday, June 9, 2004

A special ribbon cutting ceremony was held at McFarlin Pharmacy, in Monette, to welcome the pharmacy into the Monette business community.

City Beautification Chairman, Ernestine Harrell, presented Michael and Jennifer McFarlin with a framed certificate acknowledging the special event. Monette Mayor, David Fletcher, officially cut the ribbon, commemorating the opening of a new business establishment in the city.

"We are very proud that Michael and Jennifer chose to bring their pharmacy to Monette,'' said Fletcher. "The McFarlins have a long history of being Monette merchants, and we look forward to another generation operating a business here."

City Beautification Committee members and councilmen present included Steve Suber, Barbara Suber, Earl Read, Ernestine Harrell, Margarete Reed, Tom Carroll, Martha Jane Hout, and Nan Snider. Michael's father, Thomas McFarlin, owner of McFarlin Feed and Hardware, in the adjoining complex, was also present for the ribbon cutting and open house that followed.
