Amanda is the daughter of Danny and Debbie Dunigan.
Amanda started playing softball when she was young and has played since she was six years old. She made the transition from slow pitch to fast pitch her sophomore year in high school.
Her senior team won the Regional Championship and qualified for state competition. Amanda batted 340 and had 22 RBI's to her credit.
"A large part of the team's success this year was the senior leadership," CRC Coach Mike Meredith said.
This will be CRC's first year to have a softball team and Amanda said she is looking forward to being part of the new team.
Amanda is an honor graduate with a 3.95 grade point average.
Coach Meredith said he met Amanda her freshman year when he was living in Lake City.
"I knew that she would be a good recruit," Meredith said. "She is a good athlete and a good student."
