The Monette City Council met in special session on May 11, at 7 p.m. and toured the former NAPA building, on Flagger St., for potential city complex expansion.
The council discussed the potential use of the building, as a city shop, and discussed the possibility of applying for a grant or legislative help.
The council voted to offer real estate agent, Terry Brewer, $25,000 for the property.
Alderman Tom Carroll moved to cash in a $25,000 Certificate of Deposit, from the General Fund, in preparation of their offer being accepted. The motion was seconded and carried.
The council is currently considering renovation of the property given to them by Liberty Bank, adjacent to the NAPA building, which was the former Mid-South Branch Bank. The council agreed that any future work on the NAPA building would come before the council for approval.
The next regular council meeting will be on May 24, at 7 p.m., at Monette city hall.
