He had lived in Caraway most of his life and worked in construction in Jonesboro.
He is survived by a son, Christopher Pena of Jonesboro; a daughter, Jennifer Weide of Joensboro; two brothers, Jim Howell and Buddy Howell, both of caraway; and four sisters, Sue Wiiest and Ann Delagarza, both of Jonesboro, Edna Howell of Chicago, and Jan Mick of Jefferson City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Howell, his parents, F.M. and Edith Howell, and two sisters.
A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Caraway Cemetery with Verlon Wood officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Howell, Keith Wood, Joshua Wiiest, Jason Delagarza, Adam Wood and Michael Howell.
The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
