L.B. Marshall - Pittsburg, Texas

L.B. Marshall, 73, of Pittsburg, Texas, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Hospice Homeplace in Tyler, Texas.

He was born March 28, 1931, in Camp County, Texas, the son of Lawrence Adler Marshall and Myrtle Marshall. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Pittsburg where he served as head of the Usher Committee. He retired from Arkla Gas and then worked as a real estate agent. He also served in the U.S. Marines.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Marshall of Pittsburg, Texas; his mother, Myrtle Marshall of Manila; a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Kim Marshall of Longview, Texas; two grandchildren, Justin Marshall and Morgan Marshall, both of Longview; a brother, Billy Joe Marshall of Monette; and three sisters, Robilyn Henry of Manila, Mary Williams of Mount Pleasant, Texas, and Neva Nan Wagner of Olive Branch, Miss.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, at the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, with Rev. Steve Packer officiating. Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg.

Pallbearers were David Marshall, Kevin Wagner, Rodney Henry, Collin Williams, Dan Anderson, Kenneth Taft, James Marshall and Charles Paxton.

Honorary pallbearers were Mr. Marshall's co-workers at Arkla Gas and the Longview Fire Department Honor Guard.
