Bertha Mooneyham - Lake City

Bertha Mooneyham, 95, of Lake City died Thursday, March 11, 2004, at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City. Born in the Mangrum community, she had lived in Lake City and Jonesboro most of her life. She was a retired cosmetologist who owned and operated many beauty shops in Jonesboro and Eastern Craighead County. She was a member of the Lake City Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school classes for several years, and attended the Southwest Church of Christ while living in Jonesboro.

Survivors include a son, James D. Mooneyham of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Teresa McCown, Dana Gibson, Van Mooneyham and Jonathan Mooneyham, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband J. Wesley Mooneyham, her parents, a brother and a sister.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today (Tuesday) in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with E. Winston Burton and Jimmy Adcox officiating. Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
