A.I. Willmuth - Manila

A.I. Willmuth, 88, of Manila, died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Manila Nursing Center. He was born July 11, 1915, in Strawberry, the son of William David and Zadie Ethel (Long) Willmuth. He was united in marriage Dec. 19, 1936, in Lynn to Eva Rebecca Willmuth who preceded him in death on April 6, 2003. He was a tractor mechanic and a member of Westside Baptist Church in Manila.

Survivors include a son, Charles Grady Willmuith of Manila; two daughters, Connie Vassar of Manila and Marie Swindle of Memphis; a sister, Edder Huskey of Batesville; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Willmuth and a daughter, Katherine Lindsey, a sister, Veroka Walker and three brothers, Arretus Willmuth, Lookout Willmuth and E.I Willmuth.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Willmuth Cemetery in Saffell with Bob Walker officiating.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. this evening (Tuesday) at Higginbotham Chapel in Walnut Ridge.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Lindsey, Lynn Willmuth, David Lindsey, Mark Lindsey, William Vassar and Alan Vassar.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Vassar, Ed Lindsey, Larry Swindle, Gene Wilbur and Manila Nursing Center staff.
