Valmon Holloway - West Plains, Mo.

Valmon Holloway, 91, of West Plains, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 15, 2004, in a West Plains nursing home. Born Dec. 1, 1912, in Cushman, he was the son of Lee and Laura Steward Holloway. He was a retired manganese miner and a member of the Church of God in Leachville.

Survivors include five sons, Rayburn H. Holloway of Moko, Charles M. Holloway of Ash Flat, Valmon J. Holloway of West Plains, Mo., and W. Allen Holloway and Franklin E. Holloway, both of Paragould; and 115 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Burns Holloway; two daughters, Ida Holloway and Verlene Johnson; two brothers, Ben Holloway and James Holloway; and three sisters, Izena Holloway, Elsie Cole and Havel Burns.

The funeral was held Dec. 17 at the Cushman Assembly of God with Rev. Carl Blankenship and Mark McKinney officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman under the direction of the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Pallbearers were Scottie Johnson, Frances Gates, Jimmy D. Holloway, Charles Allen Holloway, Nick Perry and Dennis Weatherford.

Honorary pallbearers were Steve Holland, Richard Johnson, Wayne Shaw Jr. and Andy Collins.
