Chester Eugene Woods, 82, of Manila, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Arbyrd, he was the son of the late Estle and Rosie Knight Woods and had been a lifelong Manila area resident. He was a retired farmer and was a United States Army Veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Billy Wayne Woods, Terry Wayne Woods and Layne Woods; and two daughters, Joan Lowery and Lynette Woods.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Doyle Dean Blocker and Franklin Blocker, Jr.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery in Senath.
