Vera Lee Langston, 75, of Cardwell, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at her home. Born at Walnut Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Maggie Looney Wilson and had been a Cardwell resident for the past 50 years. She was a member of the Women's Lions Club and was currently serving on the Cardwell City Council. She was a retired school teacher and a former recipient of the Missouri Teacher of the Year award. She attended the Buck Donic Community Church and was a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by her husband, Burl Langston of Cardwell; a son, Danny Langston of Kennett; two daughters, Dianne Langston Pratt of Hot Springs and Cynthis Annette Herren of Paragould; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Reed.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Cardwell Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Malone officiating. Burial was under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.
