Herbert Sneed, 74, of Caraway died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was employed by Wheeler Manufacturing, had worked 17 years at the Manila Public Auction snack bar, was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was of the Baptist belief.
Survivors include his wife, Pearlie Bryan Sneed of Caraway; a son, Max Herbert Sneed of Georgia; three daughters, Joyce Sparkman of Lake City, Janice Benham of Manila and Saundra Sneed of Caraway; two sisters, Inez Long and Carolyn Lamb, both of Jonesboro; a brother, Bob Sneed of Jonesboro; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Cora Easley Sneed.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Manila Public Auction.
Roller-Swift Funeral Home of Osceola was in charge of arrangements.
