Medicine has been a major part of the Dr. E.A. and Liz Shaneyfelt's lives. Their love of medicine and caring for people has passed down to the next two generations of their family.

Dr. Shaneyfelt came to Manila 44 years ago in 1959 to establish a family medical practice. They chose Manila to establish their practice and raise their family. The Shaneyfelts have five children.

Through the years, Mrs. Shaneyfelt continued her education in the medical field and has an advanced practice nurse practitioner degree and works in the Manila Shaneyfelt Clinic with her husband.

Their daughter, Cindy Holiman, has been a registered nurse for 25 years. She graduated from Manila High School and earned a registered nursing degree from Mississippi County Community College. She is now living in Memphis.

A third generation of the Shaneyfelt family will be joining the medical world. Cindy's daughter, Jennifer Moore, will graduate from Arkansas Northeastern College in May with a RN degree. She is graduating exactly 25 years after her mother did from the same facility. Jennifer graduated from West Valley High School in Alaska in 1999.

Cindy's younger daughter, Bridgett Moore, is attending college at University of Arkansas in Monticello and is also pursuing a nursing degree. She plans to graduate in May of 2005.

Through the years, Cindy, and her daughters, have worked in her dad's office from time to time. That helped them make their decision to go into the medical field.
