The Manila used team work to defeat a much bigger Brookland 66-56 on Tuesday before the Thanksgiving break. The Lions led 19-16 after one and used a 20-13 second quarter to take a 39-29 advantage at the half. Brookland pulled within five after three, 53-48 but couldn't overcome the Lions.
Jordan Wise led MHS with 21 points including five 3-pointers, Justin Hill pumped in 15 with Derrick Wright adding 10. Matt Noble and Cody Wells added nine each. Anthony Lancaster added 2. Andrew Newsom and Brad Morgan added 22 and 21 points respectively for Brookland.
Manila also won the B game 54-31. Kyle Misner led MHS with 12 points followed by P.J. Brumley with 11 and Chase Shelton with 10. Others scoring were Blake Reinhart eight; Jackey Parker five; Randy Murray five and Anthony Lancaster 3.
