The Manila senior girls' and boys' basketball teams took on the "old-timers" Tuesday evening in two exhibition games.
The adult teams were made up of former Manila High School basketball players, parents, coaches and teachers.
The seven member girls' high school team, coached by Toby Doke, managed to win the first game by 63-59. The older team did take a few advantages (such as extra players on the floor). Members of the "old-timers" team included Monica Brewington, Mitzi Adcock, Kim Anderson, Coach Cody Malloy, Lyndie Morris Wade, Dana Chipman Towell, Dana Deaton, Renee Yarbro, Jessica Hicks, Christie Brymer Lewis, Karan Hill, Kathy Shelton Pannells and Christina Lester.
In the men's competition Coach Anthony Brewington and his high school Lions defeated their opponents by 20 points.
Members of the "Old Timer's" team included Rev. Robert White, Jr. Wise, Jackie Hill, William Hill, David Hall, Dan Gamble, John Deaton, Chris Gamble, Jeremy Gamble, John Hicks, Michael Adcock, Brad Davis, Toby Doke, Sam Moore and Kent Moore.
The Manila teams kicked off the season last Saturday with a jamboree and are ready for the 2003-04 basketball competition.
