Winona Belle Barnhart - Manila

Winona Belle Barnhart, 86, of Manila, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at her home. Born at Cushman, she was the daughter of the late William and Mattie Brown Scott and was a lifelong Manila area resident. The widow of Carl Barnhart, she was a retired seamstress and was a longtime member of the Blackwater Baptist Church near Manila.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William and Ruth Ann Barnhart of Manila: four brothers, Troy Scott of Mexico, Ind., Calvin Scott of Maryland Heights, Mo., Melvin Scott of Gary, Ind., and Noal Scott of Kokomo, Ind.; a sister, Lottie Mace of Paragould; a grandson, David Barnhart; and three great-grandchildren, Adrian Barnhart, Dylan Barnhart and Josh Stovall.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Ferrell Duffel officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jackie Hill, Fred Burks, Jason Mace, Don Nunnally, Keith Bennett and Jimmy Adams.

Honorary pallbearers were J.B. Simpson, Pete Files, Junior Williams, Manila Fire Department, Manila Police Department and Medic One Staff of Manila.
