Ruby Jewell Clay, 81, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was a homemaker, of the Protestant faith, and had lived in Jonesboro three years, formerly of Monette. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie Clay of Gravel Ridge and Charlie Clay of Jonesboro; a step-daughter, Betty Bowen of Jackson, Miss.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Wilburn Clay, a daughter, Sharon Clay, a son, Wilburn Clay, her parents, one brother and two sisters.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
