The Riverside Rebel Netters hosted two matches this week, winning the first over Ridgefield Christian, before dropping the second to undefeated East Poinsett County.
Against Ridefield Christian, the Rebels dropped two of three singles matches before rallying in doubles play, sweeping all three doubles matches in boys play to claim the victory. Riverside's Josh Ball lost to Ridgefield's Elisha Lawrence 4-6 while Michael Dewitt dropped a 3-6 decision to Trenton Hoggard. The Rebels Von McDaniel claimed Riverside's only singles victory with a 6-1 rout over Matt Reeves.
In doubles play, Lee Blake and Alex Smith led the Rebels to a 6-0 win over Ridgefield's Daniel Morgan and Alex Ricca. The Rebel's Kabe Taylor and Matt Owens beat Jonathan Groves and Bryan Emerson, 6-1, while Tyler Timms and Matt Snyder completed the sweep with a 6-4 victory over Daniel Fields and Blake Emerson.
In girls' play, the Rebels claimed the 5-1 victory. Ridgefield got their only win in #1 singles as Anna Ledbetter defeated Chelsea Couch 6-2. After that, the match belonged to the Lady Rebels. Miranda Boyd defeated Natalie Reeves, Heather Webb beat Mallory Woodham, and Hailey Faulkner downed Joy Hutchison by identical 6-1 scores.
The Lady Rebels swept doubles action as Faulkner and Webb beat the team of Anna Marie Lawrence and Chris Welman, 6-3, while Miranda Stephens and Keryn Douglas defeated Brittany Williams and Kristan Thrasher, 6-2.
East Poinsett County visited the Rebels on Thursday, but proved to be too much, sweeping both the boys' and girls' matches.
In boys' play, Riverside got their only victory in singles play when Lee Blake downed Adam Robertson, 6-2. The Warriors then claimed the next three singles matches as Colby turner beat Von McDaniel 6-4, Daniel Collins defeated Josh Ball 6-3, and Chris Cato won over Zac Reynolds 4-2.
On the doubles side, Riverside own the first match 6-4, as Kabe Taylor and Michael Dewitt beat the team of Chris Thomas and Cameron Gean. EPC rallied to win the second match 6-3, as Cato and Steven Emrich defeated Matt Owens and Alex Smith. With the loss, the Rebels fall to 4-2 on the year while EPC improved to a perfect 6-0.
In girls' action, the Warriors swept the Rebels 6-0 to advance their record to 5-0-1 on the year. Riverside saw their record even out to 2-2-2.
In singles play, EPC's Jessica Ruiz beat Chelsea Couch 6-2, while the Warrior's Holly Hinton downed Miranda Boyd 6-2. EPC's Marissa Holiman completed the singles sweep with another 6-2 win over Heather Webb.
In doubles action, EPC's Hinton and Heather Benton defeated the Rebel team of Couch and Webb 6-0. The Warrior's Ruiz and Holiman beat Riverside's Boyd and Keryn Douglas 6-1, then EPC completed the sweep with a 6-3 victory as Lauren Hale and Jessica Davis beat Hailey Faulkner and Miranda Stephens 6-3.
Riverside will travel to Weiner on Tuesday before playing host to Trumann on Thursday.
