Glenda Cagle, executive director of the Leachville Housing Authority for 20 years, was honored at the NAHRO meeting in Eureka Springs on Sept. 11.
Cagle retired from the Housing Authority on March 31, 2003 and died from cancer in May 2003.
Cagle was inducted into the NAHRO Housing Hall of Fame for the year 2003.
Her family was presented a plaque and a notebook full of letters from residents, co-workers, and colleagues who had written these letters in honor of Cagle and her life.
She was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the Housing Program for low-income families, the elderly and the handicapped throughout Arkansas.
March Church, a resident of Leachville and Cagle's sister, accepted the plaque from Jim Coleman, executive director of Dewitt.
Cagle's children, Paul Cagle of Leachville, Cheryl Thomas of Concord, Paul and Donna James of Jonesboro, and Anne Cagle of Manila, were also there for the presentation.
