Ronald Blythe Selby, Sr. - Leachville

Ronald Blythe Selby, Sr., 66, of Leachville, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville. Born at Leachville, he was the son of the late Martha Blythe Selby and was a lifelong Leachville resident. He was a graduate of Leachville High School and was a retired member of the Leachville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a former building contractor and manager of Barton Lumber Company in Leachville. Mr. Selby was a member of the First Baptist Church serving as chairman of the building committee and member of "Knights of the King" Bible Class.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Rose Selby, of the home; a son, Blythe Selby of Fayettevile; a daughter, Rhonda Selby Williams of Mt. Grove, Mo.; his father, Howard Selby of Leachville; a sister, Beverly brown of Natchitoches, La.; five grandchildren, Allen Williams and Keri Williams, both of Mt. Grove, Mo., Chelsey Selby of Athens, Ga., Trey Selby of Jonesboro and Taylor Selby of Fayetteville; and two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Austin Williams, both of Mt. Grove, Mo.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Selby.

The funeral will b held at 10:30 a.m. today (Tuesday) at First Baptist Church in Leachville with Rev. Doug Applegate, pastor of the church, Rev. Jerry Kausler and Dr. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burail was in the Leachville Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.

Active pallbearers were Snowden Hawkins, Marvin Brown, Tom Puckett, Hugh Wayne Rose, Marlen Miller and Jerry Mathis.

Honorary pallbearers include members of Knights of the King Sunday School Class, Barton Lumber Company Associations, Wilburn Lovelady and Monte Grimes.
