Robert Earl Lawrence, 70, of Manila, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at his home. Born in Nevada, Mo., he was the son of the late John and Ferris Gillam Lawrence and had been a Manila resident since 1957. He was retired from the Randall Company in Blytheville and was a member of the Manila First Baptist Church. He was a veteran serving in the Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Regenia Lawrence of Manila; two sons, Robert Earl Lawrence, Jr., and wife, Remanda Kaye, of Manila, and William Ray Lawrence of Manila; a daughter, Martha Denise Lawrence of Manila; two brothers, Joe Lawrence, and Charles Harris, both of Lamar; three sisters, Judy Lawrence of Lamar and Pat Harris and Jean Harris; and two grandsons, Joshua Lawrence and Jimmy Lawrence.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Eric Boling, Tony Crowell, Thurman Hitchcock, Derrick Hampton, John Piercy and Clifford Browning.

Honorary pallbearers were Jackie Hill, Jim Mills, Van Halfacre, Thomas Jaco and J.D. Fleeman.
