Betty jean Pierce Hill, 59, of Manila, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, at her home. Born at Manila, she was the daughter of the late Dorsie and Cordie Johnson Pierce and had lived most of her life in Manila. She was a homemaker and a member of the Blackwater Baptist Church.
She is survived by her companion of 12 years, Buddy Ledford of Manila; a son, Jack Prince of Loganville, Ga.; a step-son, Wendell Hill of Stonefort, Ill.; a daughter, Annette Hill of Evansville, Ind.; two step-daughters, Donna Hill and Rhonda Hill, both of Stonefort, Ill.; two brothers, Wayne Pierce of Manila and Jerry Pierce of Slidell, La.; two sisters, Juanita Foster of Peoria, Ill., and Sue White of Warren, Ohio; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Pierce officiating. Burial will be in the Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors this evening (Tuesday) from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
