Mary Ellen Barber - Bay

Mary Ellen Barber, 83, of Bay, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, at St. Elizabeth's Place in Jonesboro. Born in Mulberry, she lived at Bay for several years and is formerly of Muldrow. She was a homemaker and a member of the Needham Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Jerry Barber and Johnny Barber of Amarillo, Texas, James Barber, Billy Barber and Danny Barber, all of Muldrow; two daughters, Betty Sue Passmore of Bay and Blanche Fay Holden of Lake City; 22 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Barber, and a son, Gary Dale Barber.

A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Monday in Cottonwood Cemetery near Muldrow, Okla.

Rev. Steve Harrelson and Rev. William R. Passmore officiated. Gregg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were James Barber, Scott Holden, David Passmore, Andrew Barber, Anthony Barber, John Barber, Barry Barber, Jerry Lynn Holden and Danny Barber.

Tom Gilliam served as honorary pallbearer.
