Basketball camps held at Riverside

Riverside Coaches Greg Rainwater and Buster Campbell held their first annual girls and boys basketball camp recently on the Caraway and Lake City campuses.

The girls' camp was held June 2-5 at Caraway. Girls' Coach Greg Rainwater was pleased with the success of the first camp and said the campers had fun. All campers received tee shirts for attending. Rainwater was assisted by members of his junior and senior high basketball teams and the camp was aided in sponsorship by Sonic of Lake City.

Awards were given for outstanding camper, free throw competition, hot shot and obstacle course awards, and one on one and three on three champions.

Kaley Holt received the outstanding camper award in the fifth and sixth grade division wile Kiley Campbell won outstanding camper in the third and fourth grade division. Other ward winners in the fifth and sixth grade division were Katey Campbell, free throw and one on one championship; Brianna Driver and Morgan Emery, obstacle course winners; Tiffany Alsup, hot shot award; and Emery, Michelle Cobb and Kristy Ward, three on three championship;

The third and fourth grade awards were given to Kiley Campbell for hot shot, free throw and one on one competition; and Jaycee Sneed for obstacle course. Campbell, Allison Smith and Amanda Hattenhauer were crowned three on three champions.

Coach Campbell's boys' camp was June 9-12 at the Lake City campus. Daniel McCormick won the outstanding camper award in the sixth and seventh grade division while Josh Anderson took the fourth and fifth grade outstanding camper award.

Mccormick also received the free throw, hot shot and obstacle course awards while Cody O'Guinn won the one on one competition. Courtley Johnson, Nick Bagley and Jeremy Lowery won the three on three award.

In the fourth and fifth grade division, Anderson also won the obstacle course and free throw competition and tied Anthony Pyburn for the hot shot award. Tyler Rolland was the one on one champion, while the team of Pyburn, Tyler Glover and Jacob Love won the three on three award.

Ethan Hurst won the fourth grade hot shot, free throw and obstacle course awards.

Coach Campbell was aided in his camp by Rainwater, assistant basketball coach Kevin Hall, T.J. Eakins, Brian Stallings, Dustin Kelems, Matt Owens, Tyler Timms, Jordan Adcock, Michael Dewitt and MJ. Emery.
