The Riverside 16-under fast pitch girls' softball team defeated Manila twice last week, 13-0, and 18-10. In the 13-0 win, Samantha Dunigan led the Wooley Boogers with two doubles, two RBI's and three runs scored. Whitney Shasteen doubled and singled, had an RBI and scored twice while Megan Poskey singled twice, added an RBI and scored a run. Emilee Hook also singled and added a run while Magan Adams doubled and scored a run.
Rachel Cheadle and Brittni Sammons led Manila with two singles each while Kayla Hobeck also singled. The league tournament began on Saturday and will be finished this week at Leachville for all fast-pitch softball teams.
Lake City 10-under girls defeated Caraway 13-7 on Saturday in league tournament play. Allison Smith and Taylor Boness led the hitting attack with two hits each, including a homerun. Haven Weaver, Kiley Campbell and Kendra Staggs all had two hits and two runs scored while Kristen Carner also had two hits.
