Wanda D. Bowers - Lake City

Wanda D. Bowers, 76, of Lake City, died Wednesday, May 7, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Walnut Ridge, she moved to Lake City in 1946. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Lake City where she was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Women's Missionary Union and a member of the choir.

Survivors include her husband, Charles L. Bowers of the home; a son, Charles E. "Chuck" Bowers of Chicago; three brothers, Weldon Holder, Sonny Holder and Billy Holder, all of Walnut Ridge; and two sisters, Mardell Manning of Little Rock and Anna Mays of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John E. and Lilly McEntire Holder.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Lake City, with Rev. Scott Miller officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral home of Jonesboro.

Senior deacons of First Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the choir and the Ruth Sunday School Class.
