Manila ends season at 8-14

Manila fell short of a Regional berth falling to Osceola 9 - 0 after pounding EPC 15 - 1 in the 3AAA South District Tournament at Harrisburg. Senior John Hicks (4-4) took the loss on the mound, allowing five walks and two runs after a tough two thirds of an inning. Josh McDaniel came in to finish the matchup allowing five hits, seven runs with four of those earned. McDaniel fanned eight and walked five in the loss.

The Lions advanced to the second round by pounding the EPC Warriors 15 - 1 in round one of play. Manila's Jared Camp picked up the win striking out six, allowing two hits, and walking one.

Justin Hill got the save while striking out one, allowing one hit, walking two, and giving up one earned run. Brandon Fortenberry took the loss for EPC giving up ten earned runs, eight hits, while striking out two and walking three. Smith came in to relieve Fortenberry allowing three hits and four earned runs while walking one.

The Lions were pounding at the plate with 10 hits led by Juan Moyeda with a double, single, and three RBIs. Matt Noble and Boo Grayson each had two doubles with three RBIs followed by Cody Wells with two singles with an RBI. Casey Hill's base hit scored two while P.J. Brumley and Kevin Curtis each had an RBI.

Manila finished the season at 8 - 14 after a slow start of the season of 1 - 7. Senior spotlights will be coming next week.
