Hicks improves record to 4-3

Manila senior John Hicks improved his pitching record to 4 - 3 with a 13 - 3 win over Valley View. Hicks struck out five, walked three and gave up two hits with two earned runs. P. J. Brumley led the Lions at the plate with a home run and base hit with four RBIs.

Boo Grayson also had a home run and base hit with three RBIs.

John Hicks picked up a double and single with an RBI as Casey Hill hit for the same. Matt Noble had two base hits with three RBIs followed by Josh McDaniel's base hit and RBI and Cody Wells' base hit.

Manila traveled to Trumann for a tough conference matchup falling to the Wildcats 10 - 3. Brent Maurizi picked up the win with nine strikeouts, three walks, and three earned runs. Matt Noble took the loss giving up five earned runs on nine hits while fanning two and walking one. Jared Camp came in for relief with two earned runs on three hits while striking out five and walking one.

Hitting for Manila were: Matt Noble - double, two RBIs; John Hicks - single; Josh McDaniel - single.

Hitting for Trumann - Revis Kemper - two doubles, two singles, one RBI; Brent Maurizi - two singles, two RBIs; Blake Wright - double - three RBI's; Zach Wilson- single; Alex Henry - single; Garrett McPhearson - single.
