Riverside tennis team preparing for postseason

Wednesday, April 16, 2003

Riverside's boys and girls tennis teams will have a busy week ahead as they prepare for the District Tournament in two weeks at Arkansas State University.

The Rebel netters will go on the road starting Monday with a four team match at Nettleton.

Joining Riverside will be the host Raiders along with Weiner and Walnut Ridge.

"I think we have done an excellent job this year," said Rebel Coach Terry Conner. "We have a lot of young people, but we are doing really well."

Conner believes his team has a great chance come District Tournament time.

The Rebels also play two other matches this week, both on the road.

On Tuesday the Rebels play against Ridgefield Christian at the Joe Mac Campbell Park in Jonesboro. Riverside will travel to Trumann to play the Wildcats on Thursday.

For the year, Riverside is 4-2-1 in boys play and 3-3-1 in girls.
