Pitching woes plague Manila

Manila pitchers struggled from the mound this week falling to EPC, Gosnell, and Westside. Senior John Hicks couldn't find his niche Thursday night as the Lions fell to conference leaders Gosnell 11 - 1. Hicks struggled in the first inning hitting two batters, striking out one. Matt Noble came in as relief to strike out three, walk five, give up two hits and three earned runs. Eight fielding errors plagued the Lions in the match up. Juan Moyeda led Manila with a base hit and an RBI followed by a base hit by Cody Wells.

EPC picked up three hits to score three runs in the top of the eighth to lift the Warriors over Manila 7 - 3 on Tuesday. Justin Hill suffered the loss for Manila giving up the three hits and three runs.

Brandon Fortenberry took the win for EPC striking out eight, walking five, giving up two hits and two earned runs.

Casey Hill and Cody Wells each had a base hit and an RBI for Manila. Fortenberry also led EPC from the plate with three base hits and an RBI. T.J. Smith picked up two base hits and an RBI for the Warriors. Others hitting for EPC were: Billy McDaniel - two base hits; Saddler - base hit; Porter - base hit; Mark Smith; and Wayne Lewis.
