Eva Willmuth - Manila

Eva Rebecca Willmuth, 88, of Manila, formerly of Strawberry, died Sunday, April 6, 2003. Born in Hardy on April 29, 1914. She was united in marriage to A.I. Willmuth on Dec. 19, 1936, in Lynn. She was a homemaker and a member of Westside Baptist Church in Manila.

Survivors include her husband, A.I. Willmuth; a son, Grady Willmuth of Manila; two daughters, Marie Swindle of Memphis, Tenn., and Connie Vassar of Manila; three brothers, J.C. Smith of Pocahontas, Joe Smith of Conway and Orman Smith of Little Rock; three sisters, Pauline Howard of Little Rock, Orpha Frey of Ozark Acres and Ruth Witkoski of Manassass, Va.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Luther and Francis Arkansas Smith; a son, Vernon Willmuth; a daughter, Katherine Lindsey; two brothers, Raymond and Elbert Smith; and two infant brothers, Levi and Leroy.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Higginbotham Funeral Service Chapel in Walnut Ridge with Rev. Bob Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the Willmuth Cemetery in Saffell.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Grossman, Lynn Willmuth, David Lindsey, mark Lindsey, William Vassar and Alan Vassar.

Honorary pallbearers will include Eugene Wilbur and jerry Vassar.
