Riverside athletes of the week
Jordan Phillips is the Riverside Junior High Athlete of the Week. He is the son of Shelby and DeAnna Phillips of Lake City. The 5'6" eighth grader enjoys playing basketball, baseball, swimming and computers.
Jordan is an honor roll student and a GT student at Riverside Junior High. He is a member of Rebels with a Cause, FBLA and captain of the quiz bowl team. His favorite class is computer tech class.
Jordan's most memorable game was defeating Bay in basketball this year.
Along with this honor, Jordan received a goody bag of candy and a cash prize donated by First Community Bank.
Kara Stevens is the Riverside Junior High Athlete of the Week. She is the daughter of Rick and Marcia Stevens of Caraway. She is a seventh grade student and a member of the junior high cheerleading squad.
Kara's hobbies include cheering, hanging out with friends and family, playing on the computer and going to church. She is on the honor roll and had perfect attendance at Riverside Junior High. She is a member of Rebels with a Cause and choir. Her favorite subject is social studies.
Kara's most memorable game was the Marmaduke Junior High Tournament Championship game.
Along with this honor, Kara received a goody bag of candy and a cash prize donated by Wanda Stutts.
