Monroe Dillard Reid, 72, of Monette died Friday, March 21, 2003, at his home. Born at Lepanto, he was the son of the late Dillard and Mattie Drake Reid and had lived in the Manila and Monette areas since 1970. He was a retired master plumber and was a member of the New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church in Manila.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha McConnell Reid of the home; four daughters, Carol Lowery of San Antonio, Texas, Denise Treece of Caraway, Sheila Ann Richmond of Wilson, Sonya Reid of Leachville; two brothers, Jimmy Reid of Farmersville, La., and John Reid of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Mattie George of Ft. Worth, Texas; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Ronnie Lawson officiating. Burial was in the Caraway Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steve Suber, Glen Austin, Jr., Jerry Routon, Michael Glidewell, Brent Isham, and Sam Isham.
