Lions fall to 1-7 on year in tough week
Manila suffered through some tough losses last week to Rector, Marked Tree, EPC and Osceola. The Lions fell to 1-7 with the close losses.
Rector used a big third inning to defeat Manila 13-12 in high school baseball. The Cougars scored two in the first on errors before Manila picked up two. Juan Moyeda got on base with a double followed by a walk by John Hicks. Casey Hill's single scored Moyeda and Hicks to tie the game 2-2.
Rector's Parrish picked up a single followed by a bunt by Wyatt. Louder scored Wyatt giving the Cougars a 4-2 lead.
Josh McDaniel's three run homer gave the Lions a 6-4 lead in the second. Rector picked up eight runs on five hits in the third as the Cougars held on to 9-6 advantage.
Manila held Rector scoreless in the third and fourth while picking up four runs in the fourth. John Hicks picked up an RBI and base hit followed by two RBI's by Casey Hill to pull within two 12-10.
Rector picked up a run on a Manila error in the fifth. John Hicks picked up another base hit and RBI in the sixth followed by a base hit and RBI by Juan Moyeda in the seventh.
