Willie Thurman Thompson - Blytheville

Willie Thurman Thompson, 79, of Blytheville died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville.

Born in Memphis, he had worked as a welder and was a member of Little River Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Joe Thompson of Hope, Thurman Thompson, Jr., of Benton, Jimmy Lee Thompson of Middleton, Tenn., David Thompson of Marie and Jerry Dale Thompson of Dyess; foru daughters, Willie Louise Asburn and Sarah Cooper, both of Joiner, and Betty Huskey and Charlotte Carmichael, both of Manila; three sisters, Ruby Hodge, Eula Hodge and Geneva Vevell, all of Middleton; a brother, Nace Flake of Middleton; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with Rev. Joe Sparks officiating. Burial was in Louise Chapel Cemetery at Joiner.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.
