Riverside's Lady Rebels opened up play in the 3AA North Senior District Tournament at Bay with a 64-47 win over Rector's Lady Cougars. They advanced to quarter-final play to meet the Lady Falcons of Crowley's Ridge Academy.
The Lady Rebels jumped out to a 18-8 first quarter lead over Rector and led 32-18 at half. Riverside extended their lead to 50-32 by the end of the third quarter and then cruised to victory and the next round of play.
Riverside was led by Keryn Douglas with 19 points and Amanda Dunigan 17. Amanda Churchill, Amanda Milligan and Miranda Stephens each scored eight points for the Lady Rebels. Sam Dunigan added three and Ashley Foster chipped in two points to round out scoring for the Rebels.
The Lady Cougars were led by Jessica Hill, who had a game high 20 points. Fallon Robins scored nine points and Lyndsey Bell added eight for Rector. Sara Carmenter tallied five points, Tyler Tracer netted four and Haley Harmon added one point to round out Rector's scoring.
Rector finished the year with a 4-18 record.
The second round of the Senior District Tournament would see the Lady Rebels' hopes of a regional tournament berth disappear as the Crowley Ridge Academy Lady Falcons defeated Riverside for the third time this season.
CRA jumped out to a 25-18 first quarter lead and were up 37-21 at the half. The Lady Rebels pulled to within 10, down 43-33 at the end of the third period, then fell to defeat by a final score of 63-46.
Riverside Keryn Douglas led the Rebels with 12 points followed by Amanda Dunigan with 10 points. Amanda Milligan and Miranda Stephens each netted six points, Miranda Boyd tallied four points, and Sam Dunigan and Ashley Foster chipped in three each. The Rebel scoring attack was rounded out by Amanda Churchill's two points.
The Lady Rebels finished the year with a record of 17-14.
