Amanda Henson's two free throws with no time remaining in regulation gave the Lady Lions another chance as the game tied at 46. Manila used two overtimes to overcome EPC in 3AAA North Conference action Saturday 60 - 56. The Lady Lions outscored EPC 15 - 5 in the first but the Lady Warriors came back to pull within eight at the half. Manila held on to a slim 36 - 33 lead in the third before Henson's free throws tied the game for the first overtime. Manila couldn't get a shot off at the end of the first overtime sending the game into another four minutes. Christina Lester's two free throws with nine seconds remaining sealed the win for the Lady Lions.
Amanda Henson and Deborah White led Manila with 16 points each. Others scoring were: Natalie Tippy - eight; Marilou Perez - eight; Michelle Eubanks - four; and Whitney Shepard - four.
EPC's Holly Hinton led all scorers with 24. Others scoring for EPC were: Tia Hendrix - seven; Marissa Holiman - six; Jessica Ruiz - five; Myrtle Rand - four; Jessica Ross - three; Khristy Kline - three; and Heather Benton - two.
EPC won the junior high match up 44 - 24. Scoring for EPC were: Turner - 10; Madden - 22; Gilmer - one; Poag - four; Warren - three; King - two; Day - two.
