LEACHVILLE -- The standing room only crowd of BIC alumnus and fans were rewarded Friday evening with a double homecoming victory over guest Walnut Ridge.

After a sluggish start, which saw the junior Stangs (28-0) not score until midway of the first quarter, BIC took control and put 19 on the board to lead 19 to 5 at the end of the period. Paced by three point barrages of Cord Rose, Derek Rolland and Hunter Smith, the junior Mustangs continued the fast paced style of ball for which they are known to extend BIC's winning streak to 50 games.

BIC led 36-11 at halftime, 47-24 at the end of three and 56-35 for the final score. BIC was led by Cord Rose, who scored 15, and Derek Rolland with 14. Walnut Ridge was led by Adam Hufstedler with 13.

BIC fans watched in horror as sophomore phenom Brandon Ballard went to the floor in pregame warmups with a sprained ankle. With their leading scorer on the bench, the Mustangs did what winners always do, they adjusted and stepped up to take care of business. Freshman Brooks Taylor came forward to lead the Stangs with a game high 30 points though only playing three quarters. Senior Cal Rose demonstrated true leadership adding 13 points. Rose, who is usually noted for his intense defense, proved the value of experience and put points on the board when needed. The Mustangs led by five at the end of the period (16-11).

Second quarter action saw the Mustangs rev up the defense. Droppig back from a full court press, BIC went to a half court trap that resulted in numerous turnovers. Taylor, Rose and Josh Shepard provided persistant outside pressure while junior Brett Sexton came off of the bench to shut down the inside game. The Mustangs led 37-23 at the midway point.

In the third quarter BIC outscored Walnut Ridge 21 to 9 as the defensive pressure proved to bew more than the Bobcats could handle. Senior Kevin Davis added 11 to the score in the fourth, including three 3's, as the Mustangs cruised to a final score of 73-45.

Walnut Ridge was led by Brett Shrable with 13 and Chance Weaks with 1.
