Elizabeth "Liz" Broughton - Jonesboro

Elizabeth "Liz" Broughton, 75, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at Monette at her daughter's residence. She was a homemaker, of the Baptist faith, lived in Jonesboro 24 years, formerly of Leachville.

She is survived by a daughter, Betty Steele of Monette; three sisters, Stella Austin of Senath, Estell Hammons of Watervliet, Mich., and Nadine Hiser of Leachville; a brother, Wiles Lee Baxley of Russellville; three grandsons, Chris Steele of Boulder, Col., Mark Steele of Plano, Texas, and Tim Steele of Smyrna, Ga., and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Steele of Monette; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Eugene Baxley, and her parents, Arthur and Dicie Baxley.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Gary Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Pallbearers were Fred Baxley, Clarence Shockley, William Roper, gene Rogers, Charles Hiser and Dwight Mangrum.
