James Lloyd Dawson - Monette

James Lloyd Dawson, 74, of Monette, died Dec. 16, 2002, at Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was a retried truck driver, member of Westview Baptist Church in Paragould, a member of Black Oak Fire Department, and Black Oak First Responders. He had lived in Northeast Arkansas all of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Dawson of the home; two sons, Rick Dawson of Paragould and Ernest Cocker of Monette; three daughters, Dianne Johnston of Paragould; Lisa McFall of Lake City and Rhonda Cocker of Ft. Worth, Texas; three sisters, Pauline Austin of Jonesboro, Geraldine Dawson of Paragould and Christine Berry of Paragould; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Elmer and Estie Dawson, and a grandson, Chad Dawson.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Marion Grimling officiating. Burial was at the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Pallbearers were Kenny Vaughn, Wilburn Kirby, Tory Stevens, Kevin Seymore, members of Black Oak Fire Department and Black Oak First Responders.
